Bupa Narwee Nursing Home Mass

On Thursday 17 March 2016 Fr Paul Smithers celebrated the last Mass for the Catholics who reside at Bupa Narwee. The nursing home is closing at the end of the month. It will be relocated to Clempton Park. Fr Paul thanked the St Vincent de Paul Society and the many other parishioners who have dedicated many hours of pastoral care to the residence over many decades. There will be a special Mass and celebration some time in May to acknowledge all the volunteers.

Lenten Oratorio

On Wednesday night (16 march 2016), Prima Luce celebrated a beautiful Lenten Orotorio. An Orotorio is made up of sacred music and a short reflection. Approximately 150 parishioners attended along with those from many other parishes and agencies of the Archdiocese. I hope those who attended found the evening reflective and helpful in preparing for Easter.

Regina Coeli Spring Fair

The school has discussed with me the idea of having a Spring Fair on Friday evening 16 October instead of a Christmas Fair. I have expressed to Mr Egan my desire for the parish to be involved. Therefore, I invite any parishioner interested in being involved to contact me. Why not run a cake stall, or help me in my stall (bottle stall) or you may have another idea. I like to think of these event not so much as fund raisers but community builders. - Fr Paul Smithers

Rite of Election - St Mary's Cathedral

On Sunday 22 February two candidates and three catechumen's participated in the Rite of Election and Presentation at St Mary's cathedral. They were accompanied by Sr Rosemary Mitchell, director of RCIA and Fr Paul Smithers, Administrator. In a moving and prayerful liturgy the Archbishop reminded those to be baptised or received into the Church at Easter that they were welcome to the Catholic Church.

Please continue to pray for them as they journey towards Easter. Rite of Election 2015

Pancakes Anyone?

There is a custom that the day before Lent starts pancakes are consumed as a way of cleaning out one's cupboard. Fr Paul, Deacon Frank, Fr Peter and some of our parish Catechists decided to hold a special pancake workshop for grades 3-6 of Regina Coeli School on Tuesday 17 February. Pancakes
